Jan 16, 2020

Locals from Pennsylvania and the surrounding states come to the Pocono Mountains for respite from the daily grind. With its towering mountains boasting spectacular views and challenging hiking trails, it’s the perfect sanctuary to reconnect with nature and your inner self. A healthy dose of adventure–activities like skiing, hiking, fishing, and biking are what the Poconos are known for–and a side of relaxation in the calm of the forest make the Poconos the ideal vacation destination.

For those seeking adventurous activities, they’re easy to find. From trails, lakes, mountains, and waterfalls, breathing in the fresh mountain air as you embark on a thrilling adventure is a common theme among Poconos guests. Adventure courses are among the most popular activities and it’s just one of the ways you can be one with nature here in the Poconos.

What is a treetop adventure course?

Imagine doing an obstacle course up to 70 feet off the ground. As you start off on a treetop adventure course, you’ll go from platform to platform completing each obstacle along the way. You might be walking a wire bridge or climbing a cargo net, knowing all the way that you’re securely harnessed into the zipline.

Contrary to other adventure courses, this one completed among the treetops is not about speed. You’re not racing to the finish line, but rather the achievement of completion is what you’re after. Slow and steady is not a bad way to go! A treetop adventure course is not only a physical challenge but a mental one as well. Many aspects of the course require thinking and planning ahead of time as you weigh how you’ll make your next step. It’s a game that both athletes and adventure seekers love.

What should I wear?

Depending on the season, athletic or cargo shorts may be acceptable, but we recommend wearing athletic tops and bottoms that you can easily move around in. Long-sleeved shirts are great during the winter season because sleeves can be pushed up as you work up a sweat. Proper footwear is essential. All-terrain boots are the best option. Sneakers and other athletic shoes are great too. Beach sandals are not permitted.  If you’re wearing a hat, know that it may fall and you will not be able to retrieve it until after the course is completed.
