Pocono Tourist Attractions | Pocono Raceway

Apr 8, 2016

Known to locals and race fans as the Tricky Triangle, Pocono Raceway is a family-friendly racing facility only a few miles off Interstate 80. The triangular design, with each turn completely different and straightaways of varying lengths, makes the track unique among raceways. Pocono Raceway stands out among Pocono tourist attractions as the only facility in the area to host NASCAR races.

Racing Fun for All

Pocono Raceway believes that racing is a sport for all ages. As a family-run facility, they aim to make racing fun and accessible for all families. Pocono Raceway offers free and discounted admission for children aged 12 and under when accompanied by an adult on race weekends. All children are admitted free to the annual Kids Day at Pocono Raceway with parents tickets available starting at $10. Kids and parents can take a break from the sights and sounds of the races at Tricky’s Kit Kamp and Kids Zone. Tricky is the Pocono Raceway mascot and his Kit Kamp is open during all race weekends. The Kids Zone features bounce houses, tricycle races, face painting and much more.

NASCAR, Naturally

If you are hoping to catch a NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway, be sure to visit during June or July. The NASCAR Xfinity Series is held at Pocono Raceway in June. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is also hosted at Pocono soon after in July. While the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series includes a race in June and another in July. Racing enthusiasts who hope to get an up close view of their favorites cars and drivers should seriously consider purchasing a Pit/Paddock pass. While the raceway can never promise that you’ll get to meet or receive an autograph from your favorite racecar driver, fans with Pit/Paddock passes will have the best possible chance of a celebrity encounter.

But, Wait…There’s More!

When not packed for NASCAR events, the Pocono Raceway hosts several other race series, including Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Free tours of the Pocono Raceway Track are available from May through October during regular operating hours of 10 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Saturday. It’s a great chance to learn more about why the Tricky Triangle’s one of a kind design makes for such exhilarating races, at the amateur as well as professional level.
