LanternFest is NOT just an event. At this Poconos tradition, friends and family from all walks of life gather together to enjoy food, music, dancing, and face painting. But just when you think it’s your typical run-of-the-mill festival, the real magic begins.
What is LanternFest?
Upon entering the event, each ticket holder is given a lantern. However, it’s not some dinky old lantern that you put on your outdoor patio set. These lanterns are special. After watching the gorgeous Poconos sunset, each person lights their lantern and releases it into the sky.
With the release of a lantern, a symbolic hope or wish floats up into the sky. Glowing faces turn upward, an eerie quiet falls over the crowd, and hearts sing with emotion as the lanterns rise further into the lit sky.
The ethereal effect of this experience has been known to change lives. One attendee said, “I’ve never cried so hard in my life in such a public setting. It was so moving, so stunning, and truly unlike anything I have ever experienced.”

Where do I get tickets?
Tickets can be purchased the day of at the entrance, but because of the popularity and limited availability, it is highly recommended that you purchase your tickets online. You can choose to attend Saturday or Sunday, or both! The venue opens at 3 p.m.
