Heading For Higher Ground | Hiking, Biking & Climbing At Skytop

Apr 17, 2017

Escape to Skytop Lodge and rise above the hustle and bustle of daily life. Nestled on a 5,500-acre estate of immaculate wilderness at the top of the Pocono Mountains, Skytop is the perfect getaway for outdoor adventure. Among other adventures, you can challenge yourself with hiking and biking trails or test your climbing skills on our rock climbing wall.

Hiking

At Skytop Lodge, we have miles of hiking trails that traverse our scenic mountainside estate. If you are looking to really head for the top, our short but steep Stable Trail is for you. Ascending 400 feet in elevation over less than half a mile, this trail takes you up West Mountain using a strenuous series of rock steps, switchbacks, and metal cables for support. Looking for something refreshing? The Leavitt Falls Trail offers a different sort of challenge as it takes you down instead of up. On this trail, you venture into a ravine known as Devil’s Hole. Along the trail, you’ll have numerous opportunities to see the spectacular Leavitt Falls from above and below.

Biking

Hiking isn’t the only way to explore the Skytop Estate. Why not head out on the trails on two wheels with one of our bike rentals? We offer both cruiser and mountain bikes depending on the kind of ride you’re looking for. And, if you have younger guests in your party, that’s no problem. We have two-wheeler bikes available in all sizes and Burley brand bicycle trailers for littles too young to ride on their own.

Rock Climbing

Find your footing and strive for the summit when you scale the rock climbing wall at Skytop Lodge. Our 33-foot wall has six different sides designed for a range of skill levels. Every climber is given instruction and safely belayed by a member of our Adventure Center Staff. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced climber, our climbing wall has a challenge awaiting you.

If you are looking for the pinnacle of outdoor adventure, we invite you to take your next vacation to new heights when you hike, bike, and rock climb at Skytop Lodge. Ready to book your getaway to higher ground? Contact us today to make your reservation.
