Discover the Beauty of Fall Leaves and Seasonal Events at Skytop Lodge

Sep 4, 2025

When autumn arrives in the Poconos, nature puts on one of its most dazzling displays. Rolling mountains ignite in shades of crimson, gold, and amber, crisp air sweeps through the valleys, and the scent of woodsmoke and harvest spices fills the air. At Skytop in Fall, the magic of the season is more than a view, it’s an invitation to slow down, explore, and make memories that last a lifetime.

Whether you’re here to marvel at fall leaves, join our seasonal festival, or embark on an outdoor adventure, Skytop Lodge is your gateway to autumn in the Pocono Mountains.

Why Do the Leaves Change Color?

Each fall, our 5,500-acre playground transforms into a vibrant masterpiece. The secret lies in science as daylight shortens and temperatures cool, chlorophyll in the leaves breaks down, revealing hidden pigments of yellow, orange, and red. Here in the Poconos, this process is perfectly framed by crisp mountain air and serene lake reflections, making Skytop at Fall one of the most breathtaking spots in Pennsylvania.

When Do the Leaves Start to Fall?

Peak foliage in the Poconos can arrive as early as October, though colors begin appearing as early as late September. By late October, the leaves drift gently to the forest floor, creating a golden carpet underfoot  perfect for a peaceful stroll or an invigorating hike. If you time your visit just right, you can catch the full spectrum of autumn’s beauty.
