Directions: The I-80 W from the I-280 W is a straight shot to the Poconos from New York City. It’s known as the quickest route.

Delaware Water Gap

Wear your hiking gear in the car so you can make a worthwhile stop at Delaware Water Gap, which is one of the first indications that you’ve arrived in the Pocono Mountains. Your route will pass along the edge of the Delaware Water Gap. Enjoy the scenic views from the car, or park and take a walk along one of the many hiking and waterfall trails.

Sorrenti Cherry Valley Vineyards

Relax after your hike with a trip to Sorrenti Cherry Valley Vineyards, located in Monroe County along Cherry Creek. The family-owned vineyard is a quaint stop where you can taste some of Pennsylvania’s homegrown wines and nosh on some brick-oven pizza.

Stroudsburg

Next stop is the picturesque small town of Stroudsburg. You’ll find shopping, dining, and seasonal festivals and events. If you’re traveling on the weekend, there’s a good chance this little town is hosting some sort of outdoor event. For a small town, Stroudsburg sure has some modern charm!

The Knob Lookout

As you make your way deeper into the Pocono Mountains passing through Monroe County, take a detour to The Knob lookout for amazing scenic views of Delaware Water Gap. This viewpoint is located about one mile from Route 611 in Mount Pocono.
