Precautionary Response Measures to COVID-19*

Here at Skytop Lodge, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees is of the utmost importance. As such, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it unfolds across the globe and here in the United States, and are taking the necessary steps to bring peace of mind to everyone who walks through our doors. As we welcome our valued guests back, we will be implementing the following protocols:

facemask Protecting Our Staff

  • Each employee will be screened upon entering the building using a touchless thermometer and adhering to CDC guidelines and recommendations.
  • All employees will wear masks throughout their shift.
  • Staff will be provided PPE for handling cash or credit card transactions.
  • Staggered shifts and breaks are required for all departments.
  • Skytop is promoting telework, when possible.

 Protecting Our Guests and What To Expect

  • The Secretary of Health issued an order requiring anyone who visits from another state to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the commonwealth. If someone cannot get a test or chooses not to, they must quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Pennsylvania. This order takes effect at 12:01 a.m. Friday, November 20.
  • Please visit pa.gov for a complete listing of the mitigation measures.
  • We are limiting daily occupancy based on guest counts.  Some dates may reflect closed (sold out) when checking availability online.
  • We will only be servicing guestrooms in the Lodge and Cottages every 2nd day, but will gladly provide additional amenities and towels upon request.
  • All guests are required to supply their own masks and wear them in public areas outside of their guest room.
  • Additional hand sanitizing stations are available in public areas.
  • Plexiglass shields will be in all transactional locations such as the Front Desk, Concierge and any cashier locations.
  • All guests are required to practice social distancing in public areas. A reduced number of guests will be allowed in each outlet.

 Cleanliness

  • We will be taking additional efforts to deep clean guestrooms, public spaces and high-touch areas using hospital-grade chemicals that adhere to CDC and EPA guidelines.

 Dining Protocols

  • Indoor dining is available, operating at 50% capacity.
  • On-premises alcohol consumption prohibited unless part of a meal; cocktails-to-go and carryout beverages are allowed
  • Serving alcohol for on-site consumption must end at 11 pm, and all alcoholic beverages must be removed from patrons by midnight.
  • Lakeview is closed until March 31,2021.
  • Skytop Lodge has a “No Outside Food or Beverage” policy.
  • High-touch surfaces will be cleaned at least once every hour using disinfectants that adhere to EPA guidelines.
  • All containers, utensils, napkins and condiments are for single-use for all take-out options.
  • Decals will be used to designate social distancing for customers.
  • Single-use menus will be available. Menus are also available outside of each outlet, eliminating any unnecessary touchpoints.
  • If paying by credit card, your card will be disinfected prior to being returned.
  • All Food & Beverage Managers and Chefs are ServSafe certified.

  • Employees will practice social distancing in both the front and back of house, using designated workstations to minimize contact.

 Activity Protocols

  • Hiking trails, Snow Shoeing and Cross Country Skiing are available to Resort guests only.
  • Reservations are required for Winter Activities, including Snow Tubing, Ice Skating and Ski Lessons.
  • The TreeTop Course is currently closed.
  • Skytop Lodge will create virtual activities and take away crafts when possible.

 Flexible Booking/Cancellation Policies

  • Reservations through January 31, 2021 have a 72-hour cancelation policy.
  • February 1-May 31, 2021 have a seven (7) day cancelation policy.
  • All holidays through May 31, 2021, a ten (10) day cancellation policy versus the original 30 days.
  • Your options include:
    • Keep your deposit on file for a future reservation, which must be made within one year of your original arrival date.
    • Move your reservation to a new date and a $25 change fee will apply.
    • If you choose to cancel in full, your deposit will be forfeited.
