Frequently Asked Questions
I want to come and view the property and wedding sites. Do I need to make an appointment?
An appointment is required to ensure that you are able to meet with a Wedding Coordinator to discuss all the details necessary to make your special day run flawlessly as well as to answer any questions you may have.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Please call us at 570-595-8939 or email email@example.com to arrange a meeting. Appointments are available 7 days a week. Times of appointments vary from day to day and are based on availability. Please keep in mind that weekend appointments book fast and there is a waiting list every weekend. Therefore, if you need to cancel your appointment we ask that you call to reschedule so that someone else may be able to see the property.
What if I am going to be late for my appointment?
Appointments are every hour so if you are late your appointment will be shortened to the remainder of the original allotted time scheduled for you. Therefore, it is advised that you call 570-595-8939 to let the Wedding Director know that you will be late. It may be more beneficial to re-schedule.
What if I need special meals at the event such as kosher, vegetarian or I have a guest with dietary needs?
That is not a problem. Just inform your Wedding Coordinator of your needs when you are planning your menu.
Is there an overnight room included for the bride and groom?
Yes, a bridal suite is included for the bride and groom the night of the wedding.
Is there a room for the bride and groom to get ready in?
Yes, in addition to a bridal suite; a dressing room will be available to get ready in the day of the wedding for weddings with 100 guests or more.
Can I block rooms for my wedding guests?
Yes. For information call 570-595-8908 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also looking to host a rehearsal dinner and/or post-wedding brunch. Can you handle these? If so, where?
We have many different venues that can accommodate your wedding events. The size of your party will help to determine which locations would be the best fit. Once you have determined your wedding reception location, your Wedding Coordinator will be able to assist you in finding the perfect locations for all your other events.
What ceremony locations do you have? If I choose to have an outdoor ceremony, what happens if it rains the day of the wedding?
We have a number of beautiful outdoor wedding locations at Skytop. You can view more of our Ceremony Locations here (link). We reserve inclement weather plans for all outdoor ceremony locations.
How do I reserve a date?
Once you decide on your wedding date and locations, your Wedding Coordinator will send a Wedding Contract, which you will have 7 days to sign and return with a $5,000.00 deposit.
If I am out of state and worried about planning long distance, are you able to help me?
Of course! The majority of the weddings we host are destination weddings! Our Wedding Coordinators will work with you through email, phone conversations, and mail to make sure that all the details are covered.
I want to have a Skytop Wedding but I’m on a budget. Are there more affordable options?
Yes. We offer 10% off our package prices on a Friday or Sunday and during our off season which is November-April. If you have a budget in mind, contact us at (570) 595-8934 or klewis@skytop lodge and we’ll see what we can do to help!
Do I have to use your vendors or can I bring in my own?
We do have a recommended vendor list, but you are welcome to hire vendors of your choice as long as you provide us with their Certificate of Insurance 30 days prior to the wedding date. All flowers and décor must be provided through the Flower Shop at Skytop Lodge. You can view examples of their work here.
What are the food and beverage policies?
All food and beverage items purchased or consumed by attendees on property must be supplied and prepared by Skytop Lodge. Fourteen business days before your event, you will need to inform your Wedding Coordinator of the guaranteed attendance for all food and beverage functions.
