Meet Sky Blue - Blue for short - the newest member of the Skytop family! Blue is an Alaskan Husky and he was born in a litter of 5 other pups on 10/11/12 at 8:09am and he weighed 6lbs 7ozs. He was a BIG puppy!

Blue is a very special dog. He comes from a long line of Alaskan Huskies that are known for being the fastest sled dogs in the world! Legend has it that Blue’s dad is Greymere, the Mystical Wolf of Canadensis who watches over the land and protects all those who come to Skytop and Canadensis. If you listen closely on a full moon, you can hear him howl at the moon – that’s his way of letting us all know that the animal kingdom is safe and happy.

Blue stood out from his brothers and sisters because of his striking blue eyes. They are as blue as the sky and as deep as the ocean! Blue is able to communicate with his friends with a look of his eyes, but that doesn’t mean he can’t talk - he’s got a howl just like his dad, Greymere.

Blue’s best friend is Poco, short for Pocono! Poco is an owl who lives in the woods of Skytop. Poco’s family has lived at Skytop for many, many years. They are very happy living at Skytop because the people at Skytop take really good care of the owls. They take many steps to make sure that the owls and their habitat are always protected.

Blue and Poco are always together. When Blue takes Skytop guests out on sled rides, Poco often follows along with him, so keep your eyes open for him! He is always there for Blue, he is a true blue friend!

Blue is still just a young pup, but one day he’d like to run the Iditarod. The Iditarod is a long-distance sled dog race in Alaska. It happens every year in March and is 1,049 miles long! Everyday, Blue trains for this race by leading sled expeditions around Skytop. When he isn’t training you can find Blue eating his favorite food, blueberry pancakes, watching his favorite movie, Blue Hawaii, or listening to his favorite music, Blues, of course!

If you would like to follow the story of Blue, then join Skytop’s Blue’s Buddies! Membership opens the door for kids to enjoy special activities, recreation and opportunities to interact with children their own ages — a great way to build new friends while they’re at Skytop. Blue’s Buddies also gives parents some time to themselves, while their children discover important skills like etiquette, dining and sportsmanship.

When a child is registered for Blue’s Buddies they receive a ‘Pawsport’ and dog tag, so staff members know our new "Buddy" and extend the “Top Dog Treatment.” For every activity a buddy completes, he or she receives a stamp in their Pawsport. Once their Pawsport is filled with stamps, Buddies will be given a voucher to receive a free milkshake or ice cream which can be redeemed in our Tea room. Guests can register their children (ages 4-14) at the time of arrival.
